Ye Must
A
man lived a long, full life and was on his deathbed. A group of people
stood at his bedside. He was asked the question, "What really matters most
in life now that you are about to die?" The man, who was very wealthy,
successful, respected and honest said in a whisper, "Ye must." The
people wondered what he was trying to say. The man spoke again, speaking
a little louder, "Ye must." The people were still puzzled. Finally, in
his last breath, the man said, "Ye must". Then he died.
An
incredible silence fell over the room. Nobody understood what the man was
trying to say. After a few moments, a young orderly appeared at the door.
He asked if something was wrong. Someone replied, "He just died."
Then a person in the room cried out, "His last words were, You must."
Another person added, "Yes, he kept saying, it sounded like, You must."
The man at the door smiled and said, "I understand." The people in the
room quickly took note. One of them asked, "What was he trying to say?" The
young orderly told them, "Last night I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ
with this man. I told him the whole Bible could be summed up in one verse.
It is John 3:7 and it says, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must
be born again. And last night that man believed by faith sincerely in
Jesus, confessed his sin, and was truly born again". Then a person
in the room commented, "But why are you smiling, this man just died." The
young orderly replied, "I am smiling because the Lord is so gracious. He
gave this man one blessed day...to share his faith."
Every
single person in this entire world needs to know that God created you,
He loves you and wants you to go to heaven when you die.
Sin
has caused a major problem for us all. The moment we are born, we are spiritually
dead to God. This is why Jesus Christ said in John chapter 3, verse 7 of
the Bible, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again." Jesus
knows that we have been born into this physical world but friend most importantly
we need to be born spiritually. The Scriptures say that everyone is a sinner
and therefore separated spiritually from God. Christ came and died on the
cross for our sins offering each of us total forgiveness. All who believe
this gospel and receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour will be
saved and go to heaven.
Jesus
said in Mark chapter one, verse fifteen, "Repent ye, and believe the gospel".
God says that we are sinners and therefore we need to repent or turn from
our sin. He also says we must believe in Jesus Christ and what He has done
for us on the cross. We must know and believe the gospel which is "that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried,
and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians
15:3-4).
If you
are not a Christian, God is speaking to you right now through His own Word.
He loves you and proved it by sending His only Son Jesus to die for your
sins. Jesus has made it possible for you to go to heaven regardless of
how bad of a sinner you are. Everybody is a sinner and everybody needs
the Savior, Jesus Christ. You can call upon His name right now by faith
in prayer. Confess that you are a sinner and ask Jesus Christ to save your
soul.
The
Lord Jesus walked the earth and instructed people to "deny self and follow
Him" (Luke 9:23). Therefore, we believe in Jesus and our belief becomes
action when we follow and obey Christ. This is not easy, but Jesus is the
only way to heaven (John 14:6) and the One with the words of eternal life
(John 6:68). Nobody is more important than Jesus Christ (Luke 14:26).
Find
a Bible and read God's word. You could start in the New Testament, in the
gospel of Matthew, and just begin reading all the way straight through
to the book of Revelation. You will be blessed and God will speak to you.
God bless you. If you have any questions or want to know more about Jesus,
